Dear Friend,
It is my great joy to welcome you or another representative from your organisation to Dublin for the Eighth Consultation of the European Network on Health Care Chaplaincy in September. It will be an opportunity to meet and share our different experiences of chaplaincy and hopefully in the encounters we will support each other in our common endeavour of promoting chaplaincy in all countries of Europe.
I enclose the programme and registration form. As Fr. Stavros has informed you the theme of this Consultation is "Growing together in our pain: Differences and Tensions in Health Care Chaplaincy in Europe". Perhaps you could be think about these in relation to your own experience. Hopefully by our exploration together we will grow together and learn from each other.
You will find Dublin a cosmopolitan city and hopefully you will get time to explore some of it's richness. Dublin is also the home to many good theatres and we will provide you with details of different programmes when you arrive. We will also provide you with a map and guide to the city.
Ireland is known for its green landscape. The reason why is the high level of rainfall so come prepared for the rain. It is hard to predict the temperature but 15 - 25 Celsius would be average. So I encourage you to bring a warm sweater and a raincoat!
Again we look forward to your visit. We hope that it will be a great experience for you and all who participate in the Eighth Consultation of European Network on Health Care Chaplaincy.
Sincerely,
Kathleen O'Connor
Irish Representative on the Network.
