    Invitation to the 14th Consultation

    October 5, 2015

Dear Friends, Colleagues all over Europe and beyond,

It’s our pleasure to invite you to the 14th Consultation of ENHCC which will be held between June 1-5, 2016, in Debrecen, Hungary. It is a great privilege for us to host our next conference in Eastern Hungary and we truly hope that you will join us in sharing this time together in Debrecen, a city both modern and rich in traditions.

We are excited about this opportunity to meet, share and work together from different countries, views, cultural and denominational experiences because we believe it can enable us to improve health care chaplaincy. We face with a chaotic and confused world also reflecting itself in health care and thus making the topic for this consultation both very relevant and exciting: "Advancing care of the soul: sharing best practice to promote spiritual health."

Debrecen, the location of our consultation has deep historic roots. For centuries, the Reformed church and its educational institutions as well as medicine had made Debrecen well-known. Now, as the second largest city in Hungary, it welcomes students from all over the world as well as it gives home to European sport competitions and cultural programs adding new colors to the old traditions. The impact of the church is still significant. The Episcopate of the Roman Catholic Church, the new Metropolitan of the Greek Catholic Church and the bishopric of the Reformed Church are equally present in Debrecen’s daily life.

The conference will take place in the Reformed College. The accommodation will be at the Centrum Hotel (www.centrumhotel.hu), a 2-minute-walk from the College. Debrecen can be conveniently reached by plane from different directions, by train from Budapest or by car on highways. (Soon, I will provide more information about transportation.). Detailed information will follow after we receive your registration form.

Hopefully this information has given you a good introduction and awakened your desire to come and participate in the 14th consultation!

We are looking forward to welcome you in Debrecen and to have a fruitful, enriching time together!

    Blessings,

    Judit GAL
